The main character of the Azerbaijani fairy tale “Beautiful Fatma” is Fatma. All the things happen when Fatma’s mother died. Instead of loving and cherishing Fatma, her step mother exploits her much harder. Fatma keeps remaining pure and simple. In the end, Fatma unexpectedly marries a prince. The fairy tale “Beautiful Fatma”, being one of the samples of a verbal folk art, conveys to its auditory that evil can never win, and man’s spiritual purity will elevate him up to the very heights.
